Vela is happy to assist in the decision-making for which tool to employ, implementation and on-going support for data collection, analysis and reporting.

Summary of the Evaluation of
Six Victim and Responsible
Person Reconciliation Programs

This report, written by Vela contractor Shirly Lee White, to the California Legislature summarizes the results of six separate evaluations of Victim Offender Reconciliation Programs (VORPs) serving victims and their juvenile offenders in six California counties. The purpose of the report is to assess the efficacy of such programs.

Trauma Appraisal Questionnaire

Anne DePrince, PhD. developed a statistically verified evaluation named The Trauma Appraisal Questionnaire (TAQ). Items were generated based on interviews with 72 ethnically diverse community participants exposed to a range of trauma types. From the interviews, more than 600 items that tapped beliefs, emotions, and behaviors were generated for 9 appraisal categories (e.g., fear, betrayal, shame).
